Prepping the Natural Nail (Dehydrating & Cleansing)

1. Shape and lightly buff the nail plate, then brush away heavy dust.
2. Saturate a wipe with pure acetone, rubbing alcohol (90%+ isopropyl), or a prep/dehydrator solution.
3. Firmly wipe each nail from cuticle to free edge, paying close attention to the sidewalls and cuticle area to remove oils, moisture, and fine dust before applying base coat or primer.

2. Removing the Tacky Gel Residue (Inhibition Layer)

1. Once your gel top coat is fully cured under the UV/LED lamp, let it cool for 30–60 seconds to preserve maximum shine.
2. Dampen a lint-free wipe with gel cleanser or 99% isopropyl alcohol.
3. Wipe down the nail surface in one smooth, firm motion from the base to the tip.
4. Best Practice: Use a clean area of the wipe (or a fresh wipe) for every 1–2 nails. Reusing a gel-soaked wipe across multiple nails drags sticky resin back onto cured nails, causing a dull or cloudy finish.

3. Cleaning Brushes & Tools

• Gel & Acrylic Brushes: Moisten a wipe with brush cleaner or alcohol. Gently pull the brush bristles through the wipe in a flat, directional motion from ferrule to tip to reshape the bristles and remove leftover pigment or gel without fraying the hairs.
• Metal Tools (Cuticle pushers, nippers, tweezers): Saturate a wipe with alcohol or disinfectant solution to quickly wipe down tools between clients or steps.

Pro-Tips for Best Results

• Do Not Saturate Completely: Use enough liquid to dampen the pad, but avoid soaking it so much that liquid floods into the skin or lateral nail folds.
• Never Use Standard Cotton Balls: Regular cotton sheds microscopic fibers that embed into wet gel, base coats, and uncured polish layers, ruining the surface smoothness.
